Minutes of the December 2009 Monthly Meeting PDF

Minutes Past PCBUG Monthly Meetings

Comments on the February 18th member's monthly meeting which followed the Board Meeting.

The presenter was Mr. Marcus Zillman and it was no surprise that one had to listen-up and take notes to benefit from his rapid-fire presentation on the internet past, present and future. He advised the internet was started in 1969 - 40 years ago. Among other fast growing programs Facebook now has 374 million members. He commented on the powerful aids to be found in Google, zillman.us, Tweet, Skype, Healthcare bots for diagnostic and medicine help, deepweb searches etc. There appears to be no cooling off in the explosion of information and services available. Jim Baird Secretary

Comments on the January 21st 2010 member's monthly meeting which followed the Board Meeting.

The presenter was Mr. Len Egdish, Director of Real Estate Online & Direct Mail for Scripps Southwest Florida Group - i.e. Naples Daily News. Mr. Egdish gave a very interesting demonstration of the information we can receive from the Home Page of the NDN. Using the "E Daily" feature one can click and turn the pages of the daily paper effortlessly. You can translate articles into a variety of foreign languages instantly, receive offers from advertisers, read the opinion section and letters to the editor. Many links to other URLs of general interest are available. He followed up with a lively Q&A session. It was further evidence of the continuing, awesome advance of the internet into our daily lives. Jim Baird Secretary

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is considered to be the next step in the detection and removal of malware.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware can detect and remove malware that even the most well known anti-virus and anti-malware applications fail to detect and monitors every process and stops malicious processes before they even start. The Realtime Protection Module uses an advanced heuristic scanning technology which monitors your system to keep it safe and secure.
